Market-based Scope 2, ESRS E1 beta, and confidence labeling
- Market-based Scope 2 calculation now accepts renewable energy certificate contract inputs. REC attributes are validated against EAC Registry and NAR registry formats before the market-based factor is applied. The location-based figure is always shown alongside the market-based figure so both values are visible in the draft report.
- ESRS E1 draft mapping is available in beta. Verdant generates the GHG inventory sections of the ESRS E1 disclosure (datapoints E1-6 through E1-9) from the connected emissions data. The output is a working draft and does not constitute assurance-ready disclosure without review by your sustainability team.
- Confidence labels now appear on every spend-based Scope 3 line in the draft report. Labels (High, Medium, Low) reflect the method used: supplier-specific metered data, average-data factors, or EEIO spend-based estimates. Labels persist through export.
- CSV and Excel workbook export now includes a Methodology column alongside each emissions figure. The column shows the emission factor name, source, vintage year, and the arithmetic (activity quantity times factor equals result) for every line in the inventory.

Scope 3 category 11 beta, DEFRA 2024 factors, and PDF ingestion
- Scope 3 category 11 (use of sold products) is available as a beta feature for customers who manufacture physical products. The calculation supports both direct use-phase emissions (combustion or refrigerant release during use) and indirect use-phase emissions (energy consumed by the product). Customers must supply product unit sales data and a usage profile for the calculation to run.
- DEFRA supply chain emission factors updated to the 2024 vintage. Customers reporting under UK jurisdiction will see updated category 1 spend-based estimates on next report generation. Prior-period reports retain the factor vintage used at the time of calculation; the vintage year is shown in the calculation detail view.
- PDF utility bill upload is now connected directly to the Scope 1 and Scope 2 ingestion pipeline. Verdant extracts consumption figures from standard utility bill layouts (electricity, natural gas, district heat) and maps them to the relevant GHG Protocol scope and emission factor. Extraction accuracy is shown per document; reviewers are prompted to confirm figures before they are committed to the inventory.
- Report generation time reduced by an average of 40 percent for inventories with more than 200 line items, due to parallel factor lookup and batched calculation processing.

General availability launch: GHG Protocol Scope 1, 2, and core Scope 3
- Verdant is now generally available. At launch, the platform supports GHG Protocol Scope 1 (stationary combustion, mobile combustion, fugitive emissions), location-based and market-based Scope 2 (with manual REC input), and Scope 3 categories 1 (purchased goods and services, spend-based), 3 (fuel and energy activities), 5 (waste), 6 (business travel), and 7 (employee commuting).
- US EPA USEEIO v2.0 is integrated as the default spend-based factor source for US-jurisdiction Scope 3 category 1 calculations. DEFRA supply chain factors (2023 vintage) are the default for UK jurisdiction. The factor source and vintage year are shown for every spend-based line.
- Draft report output includes a calculation detail view for every emissions line: activity data source, emission factor with citation, and the arithmetic. The detail view is included in all export formats.
- Organizational boundary configuration supports operational control, financial control, and equity share consolidation approaches as defined in the GHG Protocol. The boundary approach selected is recorded in the report's methodology section.
